Global Payments has launched Genius World, a flagship event centred on its Genius commerce platform, in Las Vegas.

The gathering is designed as a hands-on showcase for merchants, operators and partners, with demonstrations across retail, restaurant and enterprise settings.

At the centre of the venue is a walkable "Main Street" installation featuring a wine shop, golf store, café, restaurant, stadium concession, burger drive-thru, food truck and pizzeria. Each setting is intended to show how the company's point-of-sale system links hardware, software and payments in day-to-day trading environments.

Global Payments is also taking the concept beyond the launch site through a multi-city Genius Road Trip across the US. The tour is set to make more than 40 stops, including Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Orlando. Selected locations will also feature a Genius in Action award for a local small business.

Product focus

The event is also being used to present several parts of the Genius product line, including a handheld device, a modular countertop system, kiosks, digital menu boards and drive-thru technology.

Global Payments also outlined additional products aimed at merchants with mobile payment needs and kitchen operations. Its back-of-house kitchen system gives businesses real-time visibility into performance in more complex environments and supports order accuracy when offline.

Artificial intelligence is another theme running through the programme. Breakout sessions and presentations will examine planned AI software applications for business operations, and an AI-first Genius handheld device will also be on display.

Global Payments describes Genius as a unified platform designed to support a range of merchant workflows and reduce operational complexity by bringing payments and software together in one environment.

Partner network

Genius World brings together clients and distribution partners, including resellers, financial institutions, independent sales organisations and agent banks. The event serves not only as a product demonstration but also as a forum for channel relationships across the company's sales network.

That partner emphasis reflects the breadth of Global Payments' merchant base. The Atlanta-headquartered payments group operates in more than 175 countries and handles trillions of dollars in payments volume and billions of transactions.

David Rumph, President of SMB at Global Payments, set out the company's position on the launch.

"Genius World is a powerful reflection of our commitment to Genius and our vision of connected commerce," said David Rumph, President of SMB at Global Payments. "This showcase event demonstrates how we are bringing software, hardware and payments together to help businesses operate smarter, adapt faster and grow without limits. This is connected commerce built for the real world and ready for what's next."

Broader agenda

The programme also includes talks and sessions aimed at merchants and partners. Topics include commerce trends, AI, product updates, client case studies, business growth strategies and the economic outlook.

Featured speakers include basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski and chef Roy Choi. Their sessions focus on leadership, partnerships, entrepreneurship and business expansion.

For Global Payments, the event marks a more visible effort to package its merchant technology under a single brand and present it in physical operating scenarios rather than through standard sales presentations. The approach also underlines how payment groups are seeking to tie transaction processing more closely to software used in shops, restaurants and service venues.

Competition in that market has intensified as payment providers expand into software, devices and sector-specific tools for small and mid-sized businesses. In that context, in-person demonstrations can help suppliers show how systems work across different merchant settings and channels.

Rumph also linked the event to the company's wider strategy for the Genius platform and its US tour.

"Global Payments combines the scale, technology expertise and industry knowledge to deliver innovative commerce solutions to businesses of all sizes around the world. Today's merchants need a connected ecosystem that creates seamless customer experiences across every channel, while simplifying operations and unlocking new opportunities for growth. With Genius, we are making enterprise-grade commerce technology more accessible and empowering businesses to compete, adapt and thrive in a rapidly evolving marketplace. We are excited to take Genius on the road and demonstrate how our solutions help merchants succeed today while positioning them to capitalize on the innovations shaping the future of commerce," said Rumph.
