AS Colour picks Adyen for global payments overhaul
Mon, 18th May 2026 (Today)
AS Colour has selected Adyen to consolidate its global payment infrastructure, bringing its payment operations onto a single platform across multiple regions.
Since the partnership began in October 2025, AS Colour has replaced multiple legacy payment providers with Adyen's platform across New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Europe. The rollout across its global locations was completed in two weeks.
The arrangement gives AS Colour a single system for payment data across its international business, reducing fragmentation between regional systems and creating one view of transactions across markets.
The timing was significant because the change was completed before the Black Friday trading period, allowing the retailer to go live ahead of peak seasonal demand.
Global view
AS Colour designs and wholesales blank apparel and accessories, and has been expanding beyond its home market of New Zealand. As its footprint grew, it faced the challenge of managing payment systems across multiple countries and providers.
By moving to a single commerce platform, the brand has consolidated payment operations across its sales channels in each operating region. The setup includes Pay by Link, Adyen Uplift and local acquiring.
The new structure is expected to help AS Colour balance transaction costs and payment acceptance rates in different markets. It also gives the company a single dashboard for data from all regions.
That centralised view should help the retailer analyse purchasing behaviour across continents, track regional preferences and simplify financial reconciliation. For a business operating across wholesale and direct sales channels, cleaner transaction data can also support inventory decisions and back-office operations.
"Payments are a critical touchpoint in our brand experience," said Cameron Irons, Chief Financial Officer at AS Colour.
"Adyen's technology allowed us to transition from multiple legacy providers to a single platform in record time. We are finally filling in the blanks in our regional data, giving us a clear, unified view of our global transactions that was essential for navigating the Black Friday peak," Irons said.
Retail payments
The deal reflects a broader push by retailers and consumer brands to simplify payment processing as they expand into new markets. Using separate payment providers in each country can create reporting gaps, add administrative work and make it harder to compare customer behaviour across regions.
Consolidation can also affect checkout performance. Local acquiring, one element of AS Colour's setup, is commonly used by international merchants to process payments closer to the customer's market, thereby improving authorisation rates and reducing cross-border complexity.
Adyen, which provides payments and financial technology services to large international merchants, has been targeting businesses seeking one provider across online and in-store channels and multiple countries. AS Colour's move to a single platform fits that model, particularly as the apparel company looks for a more complete view of its customers and transactions worldwide.
Hayley Fisher, Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand at Adyen, said the speed of the implementation stood out.
"AS Colour is a fantastic example of a brand that understands the value of a unified, customer-centric approach to global commerce," Fisher said.
"By removing the complexity of legacy systems and filling in the gaps in their global payment data in just two weeks, AS Colour is well-positioned to continue its impressive growth trajectory."
