Valify has launched Valify AI Chat for healthcare organisations, targeting purchased services spending across hospital systems.

The product allows supply chain, finance and operations leaders to ask questions in plain language across more than 1,400 purchased services categories and follow up within the same exchange. It also introduces a generative AI data retriever called Val, which returns information on vendors, categories, entities, systems, departments, general ledger accounts, indicators, initiatives and the Valify Index.

Purchased services have become difficult for hospitals to track because spending is often spread across departments, individuals, vendors and categories. That fragmentation can make it harder for health systems to build a complete view of non-labour costs, especially as purchased services remain a large and often overlooked part of hospital spending.

The chat tool builds on Valify's existing AI features with two additions: a conversational interface for natural-language questions and a context-aware model that retains earlier responses. Users can ask for clarification, compare scenarios and continue analysis without restarting a query.

Spend visibility

The software is designed to reduce reliance on spreadsheets and disconnected reports when teams review purchased services spending. Users can examine contract coverage, diversity classification spend and savings opportunities, while the system generates charts, summaries and filtered responses based on the question entered.

These functions address a part of hospital procurement that is less standardised than many clinical supply categories. Purchased services can include a wide mix of outsourced and contracted activities, making them harder to benchmark and oversee through conventional sourcing processes.

Les Popiolek said the release broadens access to the platform's data across hospital organisations.

"This release makes Valify's insights available to more stakeholders of purchased services categories across the health system," said Les Popiolek, Chief Executive Officer, Valify.

"By introducing AI chat, we're making Valify's intelligence instantly accessible to anyone responsible for managing purchased services-enabling them to immediately act on their data without training in the technology. At the same time, our power users will continue to leverage the full depth of the platform they rely on today, now armed with artificial intelligence to move faster, go deeper and uncover insights that drive even greater impact," Popiolek said.

Hospital costs

The launch comes as hospitals continue to face pressure on operating costs and scrutinise non-labour spending more closely. In many health systems, purchased services are managed locally by departments rather than through a central process, leaving procurement, finance and operations teams with incomplete data and uneven contract oversight.

Valify argues that AI can help close that gap by surfacing answers more directly from large datasets instead of requiring users to navigate dashboards or run separate reports. The tool is intended to give teams clearer interpretations of their queries while maintaining transparency around each response.

Sharad Karkera, the company's Chief Technology Officer, said the aim was to make cost analysis faster and easier to use.

"AI cuts through the noise to give teams instant clarity and control over their data," said Sharad Karkera, Chief Technology Officer, Valify.

"With Valify AI Chat, we're helping customers uncover hidden cost savings faster than ever before and turn those insights into confident, data-driven decisions," Karkera said.

Broader shift

The release reflects a wider move in business software towards conversational interfaces layered on top of existing analytics systems. Rather than requiring users to learn technical workflows or complex reporting tools, vendors are increasingly presenting data through question-and-answer formats aimed at a broader group of decision-makers.

In healthcare, that approach may be especially appealing in administrative functions where spending data is dispersed and specialist analytical staff are limited. For purchased services, the challenge is less about collecting a single invoice or contract than linking many categories of spend across a hospital system in a way that finance, operations and procurement teams can quickly interrogate.

Valify said the AI chat service is available to all customers on its platform as part of its investment in AI-based decision support.
