Sage expands Embedded Services to North America & Europe

Yesterday

Sage has expanded its Embedded Services offering to North America and Europe, enabling platform partners to integrate accounting features directly into their products.

The service, which was initially launched in the United Kingdom, is now available to banks, fintech firms and software platforms across these additional regions. By embedding accounting capabilities, Sage aims to help small businesses and sole traders save time, maintain compliance and improve business decision-making, while allowing partners to offer branded accounting tools without building their own solutions from scratch.

Sage Embedded Services is designed to give platform partners the ability to enhance customer engagement, strengthen loyalty and promote sustainable growth by improving user experiences. This responds to what Sage identifies as a rising demand from small businesses for streamlined management tools built into applications already used in daily operations.

The expansion allows users to access financial tools such as bookkeeping, reporting and compliance directly within their existing platforms, avoiding the need to switch between different systems or disrupt established workflows.

Gordon Stuart, SVP Operations, Fintech & Embedded Services at Sage, said: "Today's small businesses are demanding seamless, all-in-one solutions that streamline daily operations and manage money in real time within their natural digital habitat. By expanding Sage Embedded Services across multiple regions, Sage is meeting the needs of banks and platforms looking to deliver accounting capabilities at the heart of the apps small businesses use every day."

For platform partners, Sage highlights several potential benefits. Partners can accelerate their time to market using Sage's headless APIs, reducing both development time and complexity. Additionally, the modular system allows delivery of tailored accounting features that meet specific customer needs, and offers opportunities to boost customer engagement by making apps more relevant to daily business activities. Partners may also access new revenue streams through monetisable, value-added features.

Sage's service is built for organisations that develop digital products used by self-employed individuals and small businesses, such as online banks, fintech companies and industry-specific software providers. The modular nature of the service allows partners to embed features including a multi-dimensional general ledger, real-time financial reporting, and customisable analytics and insights.

Regional variations may offer further capabilities, such as carbon accounting or enhanced collaboration features for working alongside accountants. Platform partners have the ability to design how the embedded accounting functions appear and integrate within their own products, and maintain control over the user experience while leveraging Sage's expertise in bookkeeping, accounting and tax compliance.
