Ripple has introduced new orchestration tools for Ripple Treasury and a 24/7 Returns feature for corporate customers, aimed at businesses seeking round-the-clock treasury operations.

The new functions are designed to help global businesses manage cash, liquidity and payments outside traditional banking hours. Ripple cited users including American Airlines, Trax, Christian Louboutin, Subway, Adecco and Kingfisher.

The latest release centres on an orchestration layer linked with GSmart, Ripple Treasury's AI system. The setup is intended to coordinate and automate workflows across cash positioning, forecasting, reconciliation, liquidity management and payments.

The move reflects a wider push among finance teams to shorten manual processes and link treasury decisions more directly with payment execution. Ripple said the system is intended to help companies respond more quickly to changing cash needs while moving towards continuous treasury operations.

Kevin Permenter, Research Director at IDC, said the main issue for treasury teams is now less about access to information and more about bringing data, intelligence and payment execution together in one system.

"Treasury is moving from visibility to action, and the emerging challenge is orchestration: connecting trusted data, intelligence and the ability to move money so that better decisions turn into timely execution," said Permenter.

"Platforms that bring those layers together, rather than assembling them across providers, are addressing the constraint that matters most," he added.

Idle cash

Ripple is also adding 24/7 Returns, a feature designed to let eligible corporate customers earn returns on operating cash that would otherwise sit unused overnight, at weekends and on public holidays. The programme applies to qualifying digital assets held in a Ripple wallet, including RLUSD, the company's US dollar-backed stablecoin, subject to programme requirements.

The launch comes as treasury teams look for ways to use cash balances more actively without losing ready access to funds. Ripple pointed to findings from the 2026 AFP Liquidity Survey showing that 46% of organisations increased their US cash balances over the past year, while 86% of treasury professionals said their organisations would choose real-time money market funds if those products met their investment policies.

Under Ripple's model, businesses do not need to manage the underlying digital asset transactions themselves. The process is designed to let eligible customers put cash to work beyond standard banking hours while keeping treasury operations within a single platform.

Trax, one of the businesses named by Ripple, said treasury and payments controls remain central when choosing providers.

"When one of the core tenets of your business is payment accuracy and security, you have to have an incredible partner and ecosystem," said Blake Tablak, Chief Executive Officer of Trax.

"Our partnership with Ripple Treasury is just getting started and already returning value," Tablak added.

Broader strategy

The move also fits Ripple's effort to tie treasury management more closely to payments, liquidity, stablecoins and custody. It wants to offer businesses a more integrated way to manage and move money across both fiat and digital payment rails.

That pitch addresses a longstanding issue for large finance teams, which often rely on several providers for treasury systems, cross-border payments, asset custody and cash management. Ripple said combining these functions under one provider can reduce operational friction and make digital asset use easier to manage.

Renaat Ver Eecke, Senior Vice President of Ripple Treasury, said the direction of travel in treasury is being shaped by faster decision-making and payment systems that do not stop when banks close.

"The way businesses move money is changing, and treasury needs to evolve with it," said Ver Eecke.

"As AI accelerates decision-making and digital rails enable money to move around the clock, businesses need systems that can keep pace. Our vision is to bring treasury management, intelligence and execution together, giving finance teams the ability to act faster and operate continuously without adding complexity or sacrificing control," he added.
