NiCE has appointed Rajesh Shriyan as Chief Information Officer. He joins from NetApp.

Shriyan will lead NiCE's global information technology organisation and report to Chief Operating Officer Arun Chandra. He will oversee enterprise applications, data, infrastructure and IT services, as well as the modernisation of core business systems and processes, including quote-to-cash operations.

The appointment puts a long-serving enterprise technology executive in charge of NiCE's internal technology agenda as the company expands its use of artificial intelligence across its operations. Shriyan will also be responsible for scaling AI adoption internally and improving operational efficiency.

Before joining NiCE, Shriyan was Vice President of AI, Data, Enterprise Architecture & Applications at NetApp. He spent 15 years at the storage and data management company, where he also served as Chief Architect and worked on enterprise architecture and data analytics.

Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade at Cisco Systems as an IT architect. In total, he brings more than 25 years of experience across AI, data, cloud, business applications and large-scale technology transformation.

The move comes as software and services companies increasingly seek senior technology leaders with experience deploying AI inside large organisations, not just in customer-facing products. Internal adoption has become a priority for many groups looking to reshape workflows, data management and automation across finance, operations and support functions.

At NetApp, Shriyan led a global organisation of technology leaders, architects, subject-matter experts and delivery partners. He helped scale the company's AI Centre of Excellence, delivered AI-based business tools and supported AI adoption for more than 10,000 employees.

Chandra linked the appointment to the company's wider operating strategy.

"Rajesh has a proven record of turning AI and technology into measurable business outcomes at enterprise scale," said Arun Chandra, Chief Operating Officer at NiCE. "As NiCE helps the world's leading brands put AI at the center of every customer interaction, we are holding ourselves to the same standard. Rajesh's experience leading enterprise transformation and scaling responsible AI adoption makes him the right leader to strengthen our operational foundation as we enter our next phase of growth."

For NiCE, the hire also signals a focus on the systems behind product delivery and commercial operations. Quote-to-cash processes, which cover the path from sales quotation through billing and payment, are often a major area of change in digital transformation programmes because they affect revenue operations and customer administration.

Shriyan said his focus would be on the technology foundation used by staff across the business.

"NiCE is defining what AI-powered customer experience looks like, and I'm excited to help bring that same AI-first approach to how we run the company," said Rajesh Shriyan, Chief Information Officer at NiCE. "My focus will be on giving our teams the data, platforms and AI capabilities they need to move faster, work smarter and deliver even greater value to our customers and partners."

Shriyan holds a Bachelor of Engineering from K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering in Mumbai and is based in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina. He takes up the role as NiCE continues to add senior executives with experience in AI, data and enterprise systems.
