Hovership appoints Mike Maya as national sales chief

Hovership has appointed Mike Maya as Senior Vice President of National Sales, a move aimed at supporting its national growth plans.
Maya joins the regional delivery company with nearly 20 years of experience in parcel and logistics sales, partnerships, and account development. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Sales at LSO Parcel, leading strategic sales initiatives across the company's regional delivery network.
Before that, he held roles at GLS US, including Senior Director of Partnerships & Solutions and Director of National Accounts. Earlier in his career, he held sales leadership positions at GLS, TForce Logistics, Golden State Overnight, and Norco Delivery Service.
At Hovership, Maya will lead the national sales organization, customer acquisition strategy, and strategic partnerships. His initial priorities include expanding the company's enterprise customer base, strengthening partner relationships, and supporting geographic expansion.
The appointment comes as Hovership looks to strengthen its position in the regional parcel market. The company operates in more than 25 states and focuses on retailers, eCommerce groups, and large shippers seeking alternatives to national carriers.
Market reach
Hovership's network covers major shipping markets including Texas, California, and Florida. In Texas, it serves Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio through a single regional network.
The business combines regional delivery operations with software and automation tools designed to give shippers greater visibility into shipments and delivery activity. Its system includes real-time driver tracking, recipient communications, and operational data for customers.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer John Zendejas said Maya's background with regional carriers and enterprise shipper relationships makes him well suited to the role.
"Mike understands where the logistics industry is headed and what customers expect from a modern delivery partner," said John Zendejas, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hovership. "His deep experience building relationships with enterprise shippers and delivering growth across some of the industry's leading regional carriers makes him the ideal person to lead our national sales strategy. As we continue expanding our footprint and technology capabilities, Mike will play a critical role in helping more businesses rethink what's possible with regional delivery."
Maya said Hovership's approach to logistics was a key attraction.
"What attracted me to Hovership is its vision for the future of logistics," Maya said. "Most carriers compete on price and capacity. Hovership leads with transparency, technology, and a proactive customer experience. We're giving shippers the data, visibility, and operational insights they need to make better business decisions while providing a regional delivery network that delivers exceptional performance, greater control, and meaningful cost savings."
The hire reflects continued competition in the US delivery market, where regional operators are trying to win more volume from retailers and other large shipping customers. They have sought to differentiate themselves through broader multi-state coverage, closer operational oversight, and alternatives to the pricing structures of national parcel groups.
For Hovership, adding a sales executive with experience at LSO Parcel, GLS US, and TForce Logistics brings knowledge of both regional network expansion and national account management. That mix is likely to matter as the company works to deepen relationships with larger customers seeking broad coverage without relying on a single national carrier.
Maya will oversee efforts to build those customer relationships while expanding Hovership's strategic partnerships.
