DataX Connect launches 2025 global data centre salary survey

Today

DataX Connect has launched its 2025 Data Centre Salary Survey, aiming to provide detailed market insights on pay and professional progression across Europe and the US.

This annual survey gathers data from data centre professionals to present a full picture of salaries, benefits, and bonuses within the sector. The resulting reports are used internationally by employers to benchmark compensation, while professionals rely on the findings to gauge their value in the current market.

Growing demand for transparency

As the data centre industry continues its rapid expansion, the competition for skilled staff remains intense, making clear and accurate compensation data more important than ever. The 2025 edition of the survey has been designed to deliver extensive information on pay trends by job title and geographical region, as well as on typical bonus structures, benefits packages, experience levels, age profiles, and career progression paths within the sector.

Three principal reports will be issued, covering the UK, the remainder of Europe, and the US, respectively.

Expanded survey scope for 2025

The 2025 survey goes further than previous years, introducing expanded sections that examine pay trends by seniority and company type, year-on-year salary developments, salary stagnation, and a more granular analysis of benefits packages. New features include analysis of the gender pay gap and patterns of mobility and career movement within the industry.

This expanded scope is intended to give both employers and employees more practical insights – supporting organisations that wish to attract or retain professionals, and individuals hoping to benchmark their pay or monitor their career growth within the fast-evolving sector.

"The data centre industry is one of the world's fastest growing sectors, and demand for talent amid the AI boom has reached an all-time high. In last year's survey, more than half of UK respondents weren't satisfied with their benefits package compared to other global regions, and we're looking forward to sharing more data on subjects including travel, mobility, and gender pay disparity," said Andy Davis, Director, DataX Connect and Host of the Inside Data Centre Podcast.

Addressing talent shortages

DataX Connect views the annual survey as part of a wider mission to help address ongoing labour shortages in the data centre sector. Through its partnership with the Digital Futures Programme at University Technical Colleges (UTCs) in the South of England, the company is working to foster young technical talent and support the future pipeline of industry professionals.

Engaging with the education sector forms one element of DataX Connect's approach to strengthening the future workforce and ensuring a supply of new entrants to the industry with the technical skills needed to meet growing demand.

Participation encouraged

Data centre professionals and employers from Europe and the US are invited to contribute to the 2025 survey, in order to shape one of the most widely-read industry salary benchmark publications.

According to DataX Connect, the insights gathered through this survey will help drive transparency, competitiveness, and confidence in the current data centre jobs market, assisting both the organisations that use its services and the professionals it represents.
