3forge launches Enterprise platform for finance AI

3forge has launched 3forge Enterprise, an application fabric for finance aimed at institutions seeking a single environment for data, applications and AI.

The New York-based company said the platform combines real-time and historical data access, application development tools and operational controls in one system. It is targeting banks, broker-dealers, hedge funds and asset managers that want to build and run financial workflows across existing infrastructure.

At the centre of the launch is a three-layer structure: a governed data intake and distribution layer, an application engine with AI-assisted development tools, and an operational control layer for managing deployments across large organisations.

The system is designed to let vendor platforms, internal systems and AI-enabled applications use unified queries, streams, APIs and agent access while maintaining entitlements, auditability and production controls. The focus reflects demand in capital markets for tighter oversight of how data and software are used in regulated environments.

Platform design

Among the features highlighted is a data gateway that provides access to real-time and historical tables, streams and procedures across data nodes in the fabric. It supports enterprise-wide queries, subscriptions, caching, load balancing, secure transport, authentication, authorisation and access audit logging, according to 3forge.

The platform also offers native API clients for Java, Python and C++, allowing developers and applications to publish, subscribe, query and insert data. Integrations with JDBC, Pandas and SQLAlchemy are included as well.

Another component is MCP server support and AI agent access, giving Model Context Protocol-compatible agents and AI environments controlled access to enterprise data managed through the system. The platform includes OAuth 2.0, role-based access control and audit trails.

The release comes as financial firms weigh how to introduce AI tools without loosening controls over live trading, position, risk and operational data. Many institutions still run separate systems for data management, business logic and user applications, which can complicate oversight and add integration work.

Robert Cooke, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of 3forge, said the company sees that separation as increasingly inefficient for capital markets workflows.

"For years, financial institutions treated data platforms, business logic, and applications as separate architectural domains. That separation made sense operationally, but it is increasingly inefficient for high-value capital markets workflows. As AI raises the stakes, models and agents need more than disconnected data estates and fragmented application logic," said Robert Cooke, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of 3forge.

Cooke said the new product is intended both for large institutions extending established technology estates and for smaller market participants that do not want to assemble similar infrastructure themselves.

"An application fabric brings data, decisions, execution, AI, and applications onto the same controlled, auditable foundation. For tier-one financial institutions, 3forge Enterprise provides a way to extend and modernize complex existing infrastructure. For mid-market banks, broker-dealers, hedge funds, and asset managers, it provides access to a production-ready application fabric without having to build one from scratch," Cooke said.

AI workflow

3forge is also positioning AI-assisted application development as part of the launch. It said users can create financial applications, workflows and analytics with AI assistance inside its application engine, while developers and technology teams retain governed development controls.

In a demonstration cited by the company, 3forge said it generated the working foundation of a real-time stock-tracking application in 11 minutes using 74 lines of code. Prompt-driven changes appeared immediately in the running application without recompilation, relaunch or redeployment, it added.

The example included live positions, concentration heatmaps, sector views, candlestick charts and event-driven workflow actions using real-time financial data. 3forge argued that building on a governed application fabric, rather than writing each integration and workflow from scratch, can reduce generated code, AI token usage, review work and delivery time.

An operations hub forms the final part of the package. According to 3forge, it centralises health monitoring, alert generation, reporting, instrumentation, distributed licensing, secure API and administrative connectivity, and containerisation support for 3forge components.

Cooke said the bigger issue for finance is not only development speed, but whether AI-assisted software can be introduced under the controls required by production systems.

"Building an application faster is only part of the challenge, and 3forge Enterprise marks the next inflection point for where software development in finance can head: Business users safely interacting with governed real-time data, developers supervising and reviewing AI-assisted work, and technology teams maintaining the structure, control, and production quality financial systems require," Cooke said.
