Prismatic unveils AI Copilot for embedded workflows

Fri, 6th Mar 2026

Prismatic has launched an AI Copilot for its Embedded Workflow Builder, adding natural-language workflow creation to the embedded integration tooling it sells to B2B software companies.

The new feature lets end users describe an integration or automation in plain language. The system then generates a workflow and displays each step on a visual canvas, where users can review and adjust the logic.

Prismatic frames the release as a response to growing demand for workflows tailored to each customer's processes. Many SaaS suppliers struggle to resource that work within their core products, especially when customers want different systems connected and data routed in different ways.

Embedded workflow tooling has emerged as one solution. Instead of building a proprietary workflow builder from scratch, software companies can embed a third-party canvas in their application and let customers self-serve parts of their integration setup. Prismatic's Embedded Workflow Builder follows that model and targets B2B software vendors.

Natural language build

AI Copilot adds a conversational interface on top of the existing builder. Users type what they want to achieve-such as moving data between systems or reacting to events-and Copilot generates a draft workflow and places it on the canvas.

The workflow remains visible and editable. Users can test and refine steps to confirm the automation matches their requirements. The goal is to avoid workflows that behave like a "black box," where users cannot see how outcomes are produced.

"User expectations are evolving. Increasingly, they want to describe intent in natural language, not learn another new interface," said Tanner Burson, vice president of engineering at Prismatic.

"But enterprise automation can't be a black box. Users need to see, understand and verify what's being built. The EWB Copilot delivers both: the simplicity of conversation with the transparency of a visual canvas," Burson added.

Embedded control

Prismatic's product strategy centres on embedding. AI Copilot is designed for B2B software suppliers that want workflow building inside their own applications, rather than sending customers to a separate automation product.

Copilot works across Prismatic's connector library and can guide users through authentication with third-party services. It also generates multi-step automations through conversation and updates the on-screen canvas as the workflow takes shape.

For SaaS vendors, an embedded approach keeps workflow building within the same user interface, access model, and governance controls as the core application. This helps organisations retain control of the experience and meet the security and compliance expectations of enterprise customers.

The product also aims to reduce an ongoing operational burden for SaaS teams. Integration workflows require maintenance when external APIs change, customer requirements evolve, or new systems are introduced. Prismatic argues that shifting more build and configuration work to customers reduces support load and speeds implementation.

Target users

AI Copilot targets two broad groups: less technical end users who want to create workflows without writing code, and technical teams building reusable templates or supporting customer deployments.

Prismatic developed the Copilot based on feedback from enterprise customers and prospective buyers seeking AI-assisted workflow creation. Early adopters include B2B SaaS firms in regulated industries and platforms with less technical user bases. These adopters report more self-service workflow building, including for users who previously needed hands-on support or partner involvement.

The release comes as natural-language interfaces spread across business software. Vendors are adding AI assistants to reduce configuration complexity and shorten time spent navigating menus and documentation. Workflow and integration products have been a particular focus, given the number of steps involved and the need to understand system-specific fields and authentication.

At the same time, organisations remain cautious about automation that cannot be audited. Prismatic's emphasis on visual verification reflects that concern. By placing the generated workflow on a canvas and allowing inspection and testing, the product aims to keep the logic reviewable for users and customer administrators.

Availability

AI Copilot is available in early access, with general availability expected later in the spring.
